Volunteer Manager Job Description
The Volunteer Manager is responsible for building relationships in the volunteer community and driving efforts in volunteer recruitment, coordination, training, scheduling, communication, retention and appreciation to ensure HealthServe provides positive volunteer experiences and engages volunteers to fulfil its mission.
Responsibilities
Recruit and Engage Volunteers
- Develop, implement and maintain a strategy for actively soliciting new volunteers and engaging existing volunteers
- Work in partnership with Communications and Engagement teams to recruit and engage volunteers, whether individuals, local businesses / corporates, institutes of higher learning and/ or migrant workers
- Communicate volunteer opportunities
- Interview and place volunteers for specific needs
Train Volunteers
- Ensure all volunteers understand the organisation’s mission and programmes
- Conduct orientation sessions, including a tour of the premises, and help new volunteers settle into their roles
Volunteer Data Reporting
- Leverage technology / digital platforms and data-driven insights for management reporting
- Manage the volunteer management database and ensure that it is kept up-to-date
Requirements / Skills
- Minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or other relevant qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience in Volunteer Management preferred
- Good communication skills
- Recruiting, training and engaging volunteers
