Description
We are looking for motivated and responsible individuals who are interested in learning new skills and building a career in healthcare to join our team as a Dental Assistant (Locum).
This role is ideal for someone who is keen to join us in our advocacy for a society where every migrant worker lives a life of health, well-being and dignity.
This is currently a locum position, but we are looking to expand it to a part time or full-time role.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for treatment and help patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment.
- Assist the dentist during procedures.
- Provide patients with post-operative and general oral health care instructions.
- Assist in taking and developing dental x-rays.
- Clean and sterilize dental instruments after each use.
- Maintain an accurate record of patient charts and ensure that all patient information is up to date.
- Assist in communication with patients for appointment reminders, appointment re-scheduling and related patient care issues.
- Assist in clinic operations, such as appointment bookings, answering calls, billing and ordering of supplies.
- To perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor or HOD
Requirements
- GCE N or O level, NITEC equivalent
- Able to communicate clearly with patients and the dental team
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures is an advantage
Salary Range
- $20 / hour
Work Hours
Mondays to Fridays:
- AM shift: 10am to 1.30pm (3.5 hours)
- PM shift: 2.30pm to 6pm (3.5hours)
