Role
The Manager / Senior Manager, Strategic Communications leads the development and execution of HealthServe’s communications, branding, and media relations strategies to strengthen public awareness, deepen engagement, and enhance organisational reputation. The role oversees external and internal communications efforts, ensuring consistent messaging and impactful storytelling that advances HealthServe’s mission and strategic priorities.
Responsibilities
Strategic Communications & Brand Management
- Serve as the subject matter expert and organisational lead in safeguarding, strengthening, and advancing HealthServe’s brand identity, reputation, and public profile.
- Develop and implement integrated communications strategies aligned with organisational priorities, programmes, advocacy efforts, fundraising initiatives, and stakeholder engagement goals.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging, visual identity, and communication standards across all channels and platforms.
- Conduct communications research, stakeholder analysis, and impact evaluations to ensure communication strategies remain effective, relevant, and responsive to stakeholder needs.
Content Development & Digital Engagement
- Lead the development and management of culturally sensitive, audience-centric, and impactful content across HealthServe’s communications platforms, including websites, social media channels, newsletters, publications, and digital campaigns.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive digital engagement strategy targeting diverse stakeholders through storytelling, film, photography, multimedia, and emerging communication formats.
- Oversee content planning and editorial calendars to strengthen engagement, visibility, advocacy, and donor communications.
- Ensure communications materials accurately reflect HealthServe’s mission, values, and uphold the dignity of migrant workers and beneficiaries.
Media Relations & Public Affairs
- Lead and implement proactive media engagement, public relations, and external communications campaigns to increase awareness and support for HealthServe’s work.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media outlets, partners, influencers, and external stakeholders.
- Oversee media enquiries, press releases, interviews, media briefings, and crisis communications responses where required.
Strategic Planning & Organisational Communications
- Guide the implementation of strategic internal communications initiatives to support organisational alignment, staff engagement, change management efforts, and major internal developments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with programme, outreach, fundraising, volunteer, and leadership teams to support organisational initiatives and campaigns.
- Develop communications metrics, reporting frameworks, and impact indicators to evaluate communications effectiveness and guide continuous improvement.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Media Studies, or a related discipline.
- At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in communications, public relations, corporate communications, marketing, communications consultancy, journalism, or related fields.
- Experience developing and executing communications strategies, digital campaigns, and media engagement initiatives.
- Prior experience in the social service, healthcare, nonprofit, or community sector would be advantageous.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent command of spoken and written English with strong editorial, storytelling, and copywriting abilities.
- Fluency in Mandarin, Tamil, or Bengali, would be advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal, stakeholder engagement, presentation, and public speaking skills.
- Strong media relations experience and ability to engage effectively with journalists and external stakeholders.
- Experience in digital content creation and multimedia communications, including photography, video, social media management, and visual storytelling.
- Proficient in leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and emerging technologies to enhance communications and marketing efforts, including content development, copywriting, design ideation, multimedia production, audience engagement, campaign planning, and the creation of marketing and engagement materials.
