Ali* was introduced to HealthServe by his friend and is currently receiving assistance from HealthServe. He is a Special Pass holder receiving aid from our food & rental program. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Ali* worked in the Construction sector. He came to Singapore about 10 years ago, after hearing many good things about work opportunities here.
He has been worrying about the safety of his family members back home, as well as his future in Bangladesh, given the current situation in his home
country. Ali* told us that he hopes to buy a taxi to earn a living in Bangladesh and is waiting to return home. Ali* is grateful for HealthServe’s rental aid programme (courtesy of Barclays), without which he would have difficulties getting a place to stay. He is also grateful for HealthServe’s weekly food program, which provides free lunches for Special Pass holders at partner restaurants in Little India and Geylang.
