- Head of Mental Health Training and Community Outreach.
Role & Responsibilities
- Strategic training development and implementation
- Assists in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of training programmes for trainees/clients working in the Construction, Marine, Process Industries.
- Design and conduct advanced training programmes on trauma-informed care, psychological first aid (PFA), stress management and crisis intervention.
- Establish best practices and guidelines for mental health education within the organisation.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions to migrant worker community.
- Responsible for the regular review on the suitability and relevance of training materials and to create/write up new materials as the need arises.
- Capacity building and stakeholder engagement
- Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs and corporate partners to expand mental health training reach.
- Act as a subject matter expert in mental health and psychological support services.
- Coordinate and conduct training sessions for volunteers who wish to support the training programmes.
- Research, programme evaluation and policy development
- Conduct needs assessment, impact evaluations and research studies to improve training effectiveness.
- Plan for, drive and oversee practice-research projects related to the training content and/or the mental health and well-being of migrant workers.
- Analyse mental health trends and emerging challenges to adapt training content accordingly.
- Advocacy, Awareness and public engagement
- Represent the organisation at conferences, workshops and forums on migrant mental health
- Lead awareness campaigns to promote mental well-being and reduce stigma
- Develop educational content, training toolkits, and digital resources to support mental health advocacy.
Pre-requisites:
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, public health, counselling or a related field
- More than 3 years of experience in designing, developing and delivering workshops and training programmes or capacity building initiatives.
- Strong training facilitation skills with experience working in multicultural settings.
- Good time management and organizational skills to oversee and manage training co-ordination, logistics and schedules.
- Excellent people skills to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders, participants, and volunteers.
- Experience in mental health, counselling or social work and community-based psychosocial support is an advantage.
- Ability to communicate in Tamil or Bengali is an advantage for effective communication with migrant worker community.
- Candidates with Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) is a bonus.
Working Conditions & Benefits
